Anonymous said... off topic comment... I see a lot of political theater over our national census this week. Lots of drama and posturing, but with no mention of Lockheed Martin and their role in all of this. Your take? Thursday, July 15, 2010 Who's Protest Is it Anyway?
Yikes! Two weeks to respond - my apologies!
I have a couple of different views on this.
First off, the MSM/government officials will never bring the Lockheed Martin issue up. In fact, it would seem they are purposefully stifling any mention of the huge public out cry at the 2006 Census. (And now in Britain for their 2011 Census)
At that time Stats Canada contracted Lockheed Martin to develop the software for online Census forms and for the technology which scans and sorts the paper forms. Anyone uncomfortable with, or lacking access to, filling out the Census online were allowed to fill out the form with an appointed Stats Can Canvasser.
As again stated at their official site, Stats Can proudly proclaims...
“only Statistics Canada staff handle completed questionnaires and process confidential data. All questionnaires and data are processed in Statistics Canada facilities, located in Canada.”
Lockheed Martin is an undesirable company to spend our tax dollars on in any context. Why could the software not be developed by a Canadian Company and support our economy? How ethical is it to hire the largest defense contractor in the world to develop statistical software?
(insert evil laugh by someone from LM)
This is a company with tens of billions in armament sales annually, the main lobby and supplier of the US missile defence system, involved in torture scandals in Guantanamo Bay and is still being investigated for fraud in Iraq contracts. Lockheed Martin has been the number one IT prime contractor for the US Federal government in terms of annual sales each year for the last 13 years.
"With contributions from 3,000 employees, it donates $500,000 a year to about 260 House and Senate candidates. For the 2004 election cycle, Lockheed's PAC has already contributed $350,279 to federal candidates, with about 62 percent going to Republicans, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. That compares with $515,000 from General Dynamics' political action committee and $122,850 from BAE Systems North America, the center's data showed."
Dick Cheney's wife Lynne sat on the board of Lockheed Martin.
No doubt a couple of those US senators got together and bought Canada, before the SPP.
Every attempt will be, and obviously has been made, to keep Lockheed out of the dialogue.
Unfortunately, I have lost my link to the following article from the Toronto Star during a Windows reload last week - but that's old news now...
Liberal MP Ralph Goodale said the decision to scrap the long form census without consultation illustrates that the Conservative government "doesn't give a damn what Canadians think." Since the decision became public, the Conservative government has been in the cross hairs of a growing storm of criticism from agencies and individuals of all stripes who say it will mean the loss of detailed data used to plan everything from health care to schools to transit and charitable programs. But now cabinet ministers say Canadians have been complaining that the 61-question long-form census - sent to one in five households - was intrusive. Other households get the eight-question census.
The following are comments on the article, which struck a chord:
People untrained in a given field should not be making decisions for that field. Stats from a voluntary survey would be no better than a website poll result. Stupid. And I'm a right winger (also a statistician).
What do we need a census for when we have health cards, drivers licenses, birth certificates, death certificates, tax rolls, voters lists, income tax forms, employee payrolls, building permits, car sales registrations, and big business bottom lines along with all the insurance statistics that these moguls throw at us. Let the big companies pay for any surveys that they need and on a voluntary mandate.
Where is the civil liberties of Canada on this issue? If there was no census and Harper wanted to introduce one the libs would be screaming blue murder and complaining about their civil liberties.
Isn't it odd that the same people who think the long form is an invasion of privacy have no problem requiring protesters to identify themselves? Isn't it also odd that law and order types hate the gun registry?
My gut feeling is that there is much more than meets the eye, on this issue...
Secondly, I believe the MSM has most likely been appointed to plant the idea something GOOD is being taken away from us in the guise of the census information is necessary to maintain our quality of life - they are using blatant reverse psychology!
And if it is the Harpercrite's plan, it must just be all wrong. So we are being urged that we must unite and DEMAND the long Census back! Gives the general populace a feeling of power to make the government listen and provide the "people's will". See, we the sheeple can make the Harpercrite bend without burning police cars!
Yup, I believe we are being set up like a bunch of patsies!
mmmm this form of democracy is as delicious as an edible oil desert. Just makes it easier to swallow more crap from the government.
Or thirdly - but this is a huge stretch -could it be that something will be revealed in the Census that the Harpercrite doesn't want exposed?
Travers: Control connects Helena Guergis punishment to census crisis
Fear and confusion are power tools. Craftsman Stephen Harper is using both by banishing Helena Guergis and supporting Tony Clement’s quixotic tilt at the census.
If cause and effect were connected in this capital, Guergis would be back in caucus today and Clement would be out of cabinet. After all, the RCMP has cleared her of criminal wrong-doing in connection with husband Rahim Jaffer’s back corridor lobbying while a summer storm is rising over the industry minister’s bizarre assault on a benign target.
Walkom: The census kerfuffle isn’t about the census; it’s about Stephen Harper
Indeed, a casual observer might think that Canadians are fixated on statistical methodology.
My guess is that most are not. Rather, it is the arbitrary and secretive nature of the government's decision that strikes a chord. It reminds those who are suspicious of Harper why they still don't trust him.
His handling of the census is a reminder of other equally arbitrary moves, such as proroguing Parliament to avoid defeat in the Commons.
EXACTLY!

ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS
Thanks to Ron for the graphic.
It's official.
The State and Church are ONE.
Somewhere, rattling through the circuits of a police mainframe, my personal information has been added to a growing database consisting of citizens engaging in unlawful thought crimes (and also for refusing to volunteer said personal info while situated on their own property - as in my case). My crime - taking photos of the maintenance company working on the property adjacent to my property. Why? Their industrial lawnmower continuously drives over and shreds every piece of refuse, plastic water bottles and pizza boxes which the wind accumulates along the fence. These lovely shreds are then blown into my yard along with an abundance of grass and weeds and their seeds.
It may sound petty, but it causes a lot of additional, unnecessary work and there are city bylaws which state it is an inappropriate action, an offense and subject to fines. The problem is the property owners and the maintenance company both claim it is the others responsibility and have been dancing around the issue for three years.
So, I thought some photos would support my claim when visiting the City Clerk's office in the near future to initiate a formal complaint. The intention was to capture the 20 foot plum of grass and debris to show how far the mower sends the litter into my yard. And it felt about darn time to exercise my rights as a tax paying resident of this town!
There are bylaws in place to protect me from further harassment.
Unfortunately, the individual operating the industrial lawnmower took great offense to having his photo taken, stopped the mower, took out his cell and made a call. I could never have imagined he was calling the police.
The oddest thing is - an officer showed up at my house within 5 minutes of that call. Unprecedented in this town - it usually takes 20 minutes screaming robbery.
So the officer proceeded to tell me "he needed to know what my problem was, as he knew the person using the equipment, that they were a nice person, would never try to offend anyone and
emphatically stated he knew the individual was a Christian...
and also that the operator was fearful of a confrontation. Lastly, he he said he showed up to keep the peace"
The situation went downhill fast.
His statement coupled with his earnest and pointed emphasis caused me to burst out laughing. And for some reason he took great offense first to that and then even more to my reply...which in retrospect my not have been one of my better options...
"there are an awful lot of alter boys that could attest being Christian is not a guarantee of an individuals good character. But if HE is indeed a GOOD Christian, then why is he working on a Sunday, breaking one of the ten commandments, knowingly contravening the disrupting the peace bylaw and breaking a littering by-law, simultaneously? Not very thoughtful or righteous, is it?" He was not very amused.
I explained the situation to the very red faced and rather perplexed officer and he repeated his initial statement (causing more laughter) and added that I should stop harassing the man.
The 5 -6 photos were taken from a distance of more than 100 feet and I had not spoken or even gestured at the fellow, couldn't see the whites of his eyes, in fact, and explained this. Besides, I stood behind my vehicle and a tree mostly obscured for the two minutes the photo session lasted, so how could this be interpreted as harassing or confronting?
I finally suggested sternly to the officer that since he "knew" the Christian and felt obliged to attest for his character, and also seemed compelled to invalidate my legal, physical evidence of a broken bylaw affecting the quality of my life, then his official presence was a moot point, due to his personal association and as he was not treating the situation objectively. I dismissed him and said what a horrendous waste of tax payers dollars it was and I was finished with our conversation.
He demanded my name and birth date. I asked why and he could not provide an explanation other than he always took the information of people involved in a conflict.
This of course made me laugh again. What conflict? Since I didn't speak or even gesture to the other individual, was he here to resolve my potential thought conflict - my thought crime?
He demanded the information again and told me he could find out anything he wanted about me. So I encouraged him to use that method.
He said he would make a note on my "file" that I was being belligerent and and uncooperative.
To which I replied "My what incredible powers you have to turn an innocent victim into a criminal! How G20 of you". And he finally stormed off.
I decided to share this partially as a good Christian confession. Yup, I did. (hey it works for everyone else. And I'm going to city hall with a well worn Gideons sticking out of my purse, if it will help the cause)
Up until the G20, I was of the opinion there was a little too much concern/mention about the Christian Right and the Harpercrite's intention to combine church and state... So, being the stubborn dummy I am, it took a minor brush with one of his fellow Christian soldiers to open my eyes.
This experience does not mean I am supporting or promoting an "us" against "them" theme with the police. However, I do find it disturbing that a police officer would repeatedly use a "Chrsitian" attribute for ANY type of professional rationalization.
I can picture the Harpercrite Stevie boy all geared up in his Luke Skywalker PJs rubbing his hands and adding to his bedtime prayers "...and may the Force be with us."
Yeah Stevie, I think some of them are...

The BP Spill-Venezuela-Rothschild Cocktail
Time to...
CONNECT THE DOTS!
How does hurricane Katrina, the BP spill, (possibly the US staged coup in Honduras last year), the new threats leveled at Chavez/Venezuela and the Rothschild banking trap, all relate to each other? The following is the result of input from several individuals who each had a significant insight of how these events/false flags/institutions/war drums are interconnected and to what purpose. Big thanks to Bee Sting, John from Manitoba and Corinne.
Lets start with Hurricane Katrina. Now I don't supposed anyone specific is responsible for those winds, (some may argue the technology exists) but plans were certainly in place to take advantage of the disaster when the inevitable happened to New Orleans aged levee system. At least that is what the MSM focused on. The actual cause of the breach were not a result of levees breaking, but rather recently constructed containment walls created to accommodate the widening of the canal. hmmmmm. It was designed and built by the Army Corps of Engineers.
I recall there were often MSM comments regarding the extremely high probability of New Orleans taking a direct hit for several hurricane seasons prior to 2005.
Who left the sardines out in the sun all day? PEEEUUUU!
LACPR
"In May 2007, the State of Louisiana officially adopted the State Master Plan which provides the State's conceptual framework of a sustainable coast and is the overarching vision for LACPR. The LACPR Final Technical Report complements the State Master Plan by presenting detailed technical evaluation of those components within the Corps' mission."
In the analysis, it specifies in no uncertain terms that great swaths of land are not really suited for habitation and will be developed into "marshlands for sustainability" . Over a million people were or voluntarily evacuated the gulf coast prior to the devastation. It is estimated that nearly 1/3 of New Orleans population alone remain displaced (approximately 150,000 to 200,000 people).
There has also always been great suspicion that a huge land grab was conducted as displaced people were not able to communicate with banks and government agencies to act upon or sustain their property ownership privileges. Consensus is that it was part of a larger preplanned program to forcibly depopulate of the Gulf coastline.
Katrina's displaced worry about Census count
"They say cash-hungry states such as Mississippi are dependent on federal funds they receive based on population counts."
So lets switch gears a little...but with this in mind - "Why would the PTB want to depopulate the Gulf coast?". There has been very little interest in previous oil contamination.
Gulf awash in 27,000 abandoned wells
"More than 27,000 abandoned oil and gas wells lurk in the hard rock beneath the Gulf of Mexico, an environmental minefield that has been ignored for decades. No one — not industry, not government — is checking to see if they are leaking, an Associated Press investigation shows.
The oldest of these wells were abandoned in the late 1940s, raising the prospect that many deteriorating sealing jobs are already failing."
And then there are unconfirmed rumours...
They Must Be Hiding Something Really Big
...our soldiers sent to the toxic soup kitchen, whilst...
46 US Warships Plus 7,000 US Marines On Route To Costa Rica?
On the 2nd July 2010 the Costa Rica Congress authorized the entry of 46 U.S. warships capable of carrying 200 helicopters and warplanes, plus 7,000 U.S. Marines “who may circulate the country in uniform without any restrictions”, plus submarine killer ships to the Costa Rican coast for “anti-narcotics operations and humanitarian missions between 1st July 2010 until 31st December 2010."
According to my memory, its very close to Honduras and Venezuela, oh and Cuba
(this reeks worse than 6 days of decomposing beluga!)
Obama says coup in Honduras is illegal
('cause the government south of us does nothing illegal)
"We believe that the coup was not legal and that President Zelaya remains the president of Honduras, the democratically elected president there," Obama told reporters after an Oval Office meeting with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe."
Coup planned by Honduran businessmen in an Arab Emirate
"The are going to have me killed for this", Roland Valenzuela then said.
Former Minister Under Zelaya Murdered
(thanks to Corinne) "It would appear that the operation to invade Venezuela and its friends is underway, and that the BP oil spill may well have been generated to move the American population away from the coast in order to set up a military base of operations, as well as to protect the American coastline from possible retaliations, and an influx of refugees."
And as humourous as those trashy magazine headlines at the check-out counter...
Chavez: Bigger threat to U.S. than Osama?
Colombia under threat from Chávez
In combination with the oil resources, this is also the other reason for the spin doctors working over time to vilify Chavez.
Chavez orders nationalization of Banco de Venezuela
Corinne further comments...
"If the Soviets don't help their socialist friends, then we can assume they are completely complicit in the global agenda. If they do help, at least with heavy duty weaponry, then it will be a fierce battle. If Chavez, too, is playing the New World game, he will be spared."
Sadam started trading oil in Euros rather than US dollars (that was the weapon of mass destruction). Iran followed suit.
Factor in the Rothschild banking scam - Until recently Afghanistan and Iraq did not have a "federal reserve"
Along with Iraq and Afghanistan, isn't the pattern evident...nothing is coincidence.
There are now only 7 nations on the world left without a Rothschild controlled central bank: Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Cuba, Venezuela and Libya. Isn't ironic that all these nations are rogue states with a clear view to destroy the US or Israel? Or at least the MSM would have you believing it!
Every war, supposed terrorist action, national security crisis, military coup, increase in government power - designed and orchestrated to one end purpose... The NWO, at the command of the Rothschild banking dynasty, who has a mission to disolve all privately owned property or equity. We are indeed, well on the way to becoming slaves of the State.

Who's Protest Is it Anyway?
There's something about all the blatant silliness of the provocateur cops, which gets under my skin. Are they really keystone cop blundering idiots? Or is there intention to look dumb but send a message that they will show up in droves to ruin the credibility of the peoples voice no matter what it takes... "the mission comes first" mentality.
I have had a solid week of computer virus nightmare problems. So, I am posting a few articles in the vein of the above thought tonight before this digital house of cards collapses again. (hoping the computer genius ex will help out this week to sort this dang machine out)
Thanks again to Anonymous again for use of a great graphic!
this gets filed under impudence...
Hepburn: Why is Harper escaping G20 aftermath scot-free?
"Clearly, Harper does not want to be seen as bowing to public pressure to hold a full-scale inquiry, given that he is on record as opposing a public probe of the summit security."
Personally I am not anti-police. I am however anti abused, special, secret, power given to police, from a lying, covert, pass the buck, Ontario Premier. It was the deed, not the people.
Must have learned the following tactic from the IDF...shift the focus and then shift the blame...
Not just about police
"...only a broad public inquiry would have the capacity to follow the decision-making trail that led, first, to the apparent strategy to let a few hooligans run amok, and later, to the arrest of more than 1,000 people (the vast majority of whom were let go with no charges, but only after spending the rest of the weekend in detention).
But by suggesting those favouring an inquiry are anti-police, our political leaders are deflecting attention from these broader questions, and from themselves."
Mr. Khadr represents US ALL and his situation is an example of our governments ability to manipulate elements of the charter of rights from being objective (for all) to subjective (for some). Will we end up with two distinct definitions of discrimination, like Israel?
Evasiveness on Khadr
"By playing a game of constitutional chicken with the courts, the government is sending a dire message not only to Khadr but also to all Canadians who believe in the Charter of Rights and the rule of law. Yes, it is the government's prerogative to conduct foreign affairs. But the courts have a role, too, in ensuring that the government manages the foreign affairs file in accordance with the Constitution, not in spite of it."
Letter from soldier expressing his disgust of police action at the G20.
Bricks move a lot slower than bullets. (full letter)
"As a serving member of the Canadian Forces and a combat veteran, I can say with absolute clarity and conviction that i am disgusted by the actions of the supposed "other half" of our nations security, the civilian shield to the army's sword.
When you put that uniform on you are no longer John Smith of Toronto. You are a member of the Canadian Forces, just as you are a Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer, or an Ontario Provincial Police Officer. A government employee who's mandate and training is to PROTECT the public. Not to protect themselves from threats within the public. It is their job as the civilian arm of our nations security to be the blue line between those that would see our way of life burnt to it's end and the Canadians who see more than a simple flag.
Instead they formed a black wall and responded to WORDS with unrelenting, armed and often random VIOLENCE.
I don't care if Osama Bin Laden himself is hiding on Queen Street like Waldo... you don't just drop an air strike on the village.
You PARTICULARLY don't do it after the entire village sang Oh Canada in fear.
I understand the effect of an unsuspecting ambush tactics to confuse and demoralize... but when the first three ranks of 'protesters' are waving peace signs standing outside the gap wearing American Apparel and drinking Starbucks... I might tailor my tactics accordingly.
People have said that they 'understand' why Police might have been on edge due to the events of the day before...
Bullshit.
I understand that i watched friends die and then the next day went out and did my job with the professionalism expected of someone who claims to serve his country and as in Holland I gave chocolate to children while the engineers rebuilt.
When you back people into a corner... they will fight and sell their lives dearly to escape.
The 'kettle' is a useful tactic to isolate 'riot ringleaders' but with even minor coordination it can simply be turned into a turnstile type processing operation as opposed to a way to jack up arrest counts to justify budgets and manpower.
Too little too late from the Police especially after the complete lack of presence as the city they are paid to protect, burned the day before.
A number of extremely reputable journalists and civilian truth mongers have been given unprecedented ability to expose the absolute incompetence of both the police leadership and of the individual line trooper. "
Police release G20 photos of ‘most wanted'
Didn't notice any of their own active violent participants on it?
Oh well, I have a G20 most wanted list also, and it begins with the Harpercrite, McGuinty, William Blair, and Tony Clement (for being a greedy little lemming).
Anyone want to add to it? We can publish it with photos and send it to the MSM.

Anne Frankenstein and Beans
from PAJU...
Canadian establishment's deference to Israel is out of date
"We have no compunction about branding North Korea a rogue state for attacking a South Korean naval vessel in international waters. But Israel's unprovoked attack on civilian ships in international waters — well, that's a different sort of thing. Indeed, some of the coverage has suggested that wily peace activists lured Israeli commandos into boarding their vessels in the middle of the night just so they could attack the armed soldiers with sticks. But my sense is that while politicians and media remain fearful of criticizing Israel the public is starting to move on."
Indeed the public is moving on. In my opinion, the root of the current ether does not initially stem from gracious or magnanimous heartfelt desire for a resolution and an end to Palestine's suffering. That is something which seems to develop secondary with most people I have talked with, who have recently changed their stance on empathy for Israel's security.
What seems to have initiated the process of the public drift is a burgeoning contempt for Israel's flagrant air of self entitlement; brash chest thumping calls of impunity; irreverent and unapologetic excuses for each massacre; constant force feeding of holocaust stories and the unabashed admittance of government interference. That's the general consensus I have heard over and over again.
In many cases, once the discovery is made that Israel is no light onto nations, interest and empathy is quickly shifted to the Palestinian cause - especially in light of the "Never Again" hypocrisy.
More entertainers are jumping on board and potentially at the risk of getting fewer calls from their Hollywood zionist masters. I still wish Angelina would show her infamous girl kahunas and SAY SOMETHING productive about the situation in Palestine.
Dustin Hoffman cancels Israel appearance
Meg Ryan snubs J'lem Festival after ‘Mavi Marmara.’
Although Mel Gibson has made a bone head out of himself occaisionally, he seems to have really pissed off the powers in Hollywood and is perpetually being harassed, set-up and used as a whipping boy. Maybe someone didn't like the The Passion of the Christ!
Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ:Legitimizing Anti-Semitism
An Interview with Abraham H. Foxman
Interestingly enough though, politicians don't seem to fit the profile of individuals who cotton on to the rationale that Israel may be less than perfect. But then they are specifically paid not to, I suppose.
from Ron...
Seven MPs tour Israel
And if it weren't for politicians endorsing and selling vaccines to their willing public, they now also have an agenda to sell us a new enemy and have been plugging "Islamophobia" since before 911. It is all part of the package to dominate us with fear, ratchet up our nationalistic tendencies to justify their mid east wars, where they can assist Israel attain hegemony, oil, water and every other item the jackal state desires.
From Brian in North Bay...
FYI, here's an article by American Stephen Lendman about Mohamed Harkat.
Lendman is a progressive, an activist, a popular blogger and author. He
also hosts a weekly radio show at http://www.progressiveradionetwork.com/
His guest on his radio show last weekend was Edward S. Herman.
Canada's War on Islam: The Case of Mohamed Harkat
"Like in America post-9/11, Canadian Muslims have been victimized,
vilified, and persecuted for their faith, ethnicity, prominence, and
activism. They've been targeted, hunted down, rounded up, held in
detention, kept in isolation, denied bail, restricted in their right to
counsel, tried on secret evidence, convicted or incriminated on bogus
charges, given long sentences and incarcerated as political prisoners or
deported to certain torture, imprisonment or death by so-called democratic
countries that, in fact, mock the rule of law and judicial fairness.
Victims are pawns in the war on terror - how rogue states intimidate
populations to accept foreign wars and homeland repression to mask their
more sinister agenda. Today, it reflects unbridled militarism, permanent
wars, imperial conquest, and planned economic crises causing lost jobs,
homes, benefits, futures, and the greatest ever wealth transfer to the
rich, largely below the radar."
The scariest aspect is we really have the Christian Right to thank for their efforts to support zionism. Someone should tell them first of all they are all going to hell for changing the Sabbath from the 7th to 1st day of the week and secondly that the "nation of Israel cannot be created by the hand of man". See dudes - no convenient Armageddon for you now!

LET THEM EAT CORIANDER
Blockade 'eased' as Gaza starves more slowly
"Israel’s severe and apparently arbitrary restrictions on foodstuffs entering Gaza – coriander is ‘bad’, cinnamon is ‘good’ – will finally end, we are told. Gaza’s 1.5 million inhabitants will soon have all the coriander they want. But the permitted items still have to find their way into the enclave and Israel controls the crossing points and determines how many trucks are allowed in daily. Currently, only a quarter of the number of trucks once permitted are able to deliver their cargo, and that is unlikely to change to any significant degree. Moreover, as part of the "security" blockade, the ban is expected to remain on items such as cement and steel desperately needed to build and repair the thousands of homes devastated by Israel’s attack 18 months ago."

Canadian "charity" Jewish National Fund funds used for Israeli military purposes
Legal case against JNF/CRA is clear
The legal case against Canada Revenue's awarding and maintaining charitable status for the Jewish National Fund is very clear. And it has nothing to do whatsoever with the often referred to Magden David Adom for Israel vs Minister of National Revenue case. That case dealt with WHERE (from a geographical point of view) a charity can operate.
The case against CRA/JNF deals with the ILLEGALITY of JNF's operations and bylaws under Canadian Law and the fact that JNF's operations and bylaws run counter to Canadian Public Policy and the International Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination and indeed are diametrically opposed to CRA's own policy statement CPS-021. Canada Revenue's website is quite clear - if an entity's activities are illegal or contrary to public policy, it cannot qualify for charitable status.
JNF is the largest landlord in Israel and, as revealed by its Canadian EVP, leases property to 70% of Israeli citizens. It's bylaws and operations clearly state that if will not lease property to that 20% of Israeli citizens who are non-Jews. Simply put, JNF discriminates. And it admits it. And since this discrimination is clearly codified in JNF's bylaws and leases, this point is not subject to debate. Not here, not anywhere. Indeed the legal authority in the nation in which the JNF operates, that being the Attorney General of Israel, has already ruled in 2005 that the JNF's bylaws and operations represent discrimination.
A simple litmus test is to ask yourself if the JNF could do in Canada what it does in Israel. In other words could a Canadian landlord refuse to lease to 20% of the Canadian population because they were of the "wrong race"? Of course not. The Canadian Human Rights Act clearly states that discrimination in the provision of housing is illegal. There is also no issue of jurisdiction in the CRA/JNF case, for the case is to be brought against the Canadian Government in Canada against the CRA's refusal to revoke the charitable status of the JNF even though it has been in clear possession for some time of the proof of the illegality of JNF's bylaws and operations. IN ADDITION, the Canadian Government is also violating the International Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination which requires that Canada take POSITIVE action to ensure its bodies do not aid or enable discrimination.
This case is straight forward. No court in Canada will say that discrimination is legal or charitable. No one can deny that the JNF discriminates nor could anyone, because discrimination is codified in JNF's bylaws. And no fancy marketing, political hobnobbing or propaganda can change these facts.

GOD's Chosen Oil Spill
AT LAST - there is an explanation (bragging confession?) of the cause of the BP oil rig fire disaster!
Thanks to Bee Sting for sharing this important news, because now without a doubt we know who should foot the entire clean-up bill, any further on shore loss of income, medical expenses and so on...please give this short video a watch!
The Oil Spill - Coincidence or Judgment of God
Since conspiracy without enacting the planned "crime" is a universal indictable offense these days, can praying to God to bring someone to harm and him answering your prayer fall in the same category? Is praying for an indictable offense to occur the same as enacting it, even if God doesn't answer your prayer? Isn't that praying to conspire? Would God be considered a co-conspirator? (OK, I'm off topic, being a little silly and still thinking of the ridiculous charges against the protesters.)
But you get my drift. If Obama did indeed pull support from Israel and the wrath of Judea smote the oil rig - doesn't that make Judea the perpetrator and responsible party for the spill?
Perhaps Israel could pass-go their hand-out this year from Uncle Sam and donate it to clean-up activities and all the people along the Gulf coast now out of work and possibly their homes.
However, there is no hard evidence that Obama turned his back on Israel as the video suggests.
But that is of course open to interpretation, according to one critic that wrote to the Jerusalem Post;
"Sir, – US President Barack Obama’s relationship with Israel is unique (“US Jews support Obama, but oppose Jerusalem concessions,” April 18). Why? Because during his short time in office the following, which has not happened in any previous US administration, has taken place:
- He made an overt attempt to reach out to the Muslim world by going to Cairo and making a speech.
- He publicly threatened to link progress in US efforts to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons to Israel’s willingness to make huge concessions to the Arabs.
- Even though Iran has threatened to wipe Israel off the map, he’s told Israel not to strike Teheran.
- He stopped a shipment of bunker-busting bombs which were to be delivered to Israel.
- He demands Jerusalem be divided.
- He threatened to abandon the long time policy of vetoing anti-Israel UN resolutions
- He has treated Prime Minister Netanyahu as if he were a hostile enemy instead of our most ardent ally.
- He is considering imposing a “solution” to the conflict.
And you thought the video was hilarious!

IS THE VOILCANO A FALSE FLAG OP TO FORCE EVACUATE THE GULF STATES?
from Corrine...
"Yet another indication that the Burgermeister report has merit and that the predicted ecological disaster is just a fear tactic."
The chief executive of state oil company Petroleos Mexicanos, Juan Jose Suarez Coppel, told legislators that water currents in the Gulf appear to be keeping the oil spill away from Mexico.
Mexico Not Expecting Much Damage Yet From BP Oil Spill
"A specially designed boat that can navigate in shallow waters and help with the rescue of wildlife in the Gulf has been denied access by BP and the US government because it doesn't have "a permit". The prerequisite for a permit, of course, is training in the care of wildlife! Some "emergency", eh? No help wanted, even though countless numbers of untrained people have helped rescue and clean birds at other spills."
Boats Created to Help Gulf Wildlife Turned Away: Find Out Why
"... this is a doomsday event, but it’s not the end of the food chain, death of the oceans, or as some have warned an extinction level event. It’s only bad for the targeted populations."
Bee Stings added to the consensus with this article...
"A few scientists say the gushing oil — despite its clear harm to pelicans, turtles and other forms of coastal life — might ultimately represent a subtle boon to the creatures of the cold seeps and even to the wider food chain.
“The gulf is such a great fishery because it’s fed organic matter from oil,” said Roger Sassen, a specialist on the cold seeps who recently retired from Texas A&M University. “It’s pre-adapted to crude oil. The image of this spill being a complete disaster is not true.” His stance seems to be a minority view."
Cold, Dark and Teeming With Life
Unfortunately for the migrating bird population, the story is far different.
John from Manitoba sends in this article...
Millions of birds set to fly into Gulf oil mess
"Despite the images of oil-soaked pelicans flooding the media in recent weeks, wildlife experts say the toll on sea birds from BP's Gulf Coast oil spill is smaller than was anticipated, so far.
That is expected to change drastically for the worse."
Gulf Oil Spill Could Go for Years, If Not Dealt With
"Pessimism continues to mount from technical and scientific sources about the ability of BP to stop the flow of oil into the Gulf anytime soon. Reality is that the petroleum industry likely is at the outer edge of its ability to understand and deal with this event. All estimates of solution are conjectures at this time.
Pessimism and hard-edged bitterness continue to grow over the role of both BP and the agencies of the federal government, who are now widely seen as complicity in a corporate-fascist take-over of the Gulf region.
Knowledgeable people in the area who are active in the response to the disaster claim that activities are obviously conducted and organized in a fashion which serves to obfuscate and hide what is happening to the environment and the people. Cynicism is spreading broadly through the population, as can be readily seen on major newscasts."
BP buys Google ads for search term "oil spill"
BP Plc has bought terms such as "oil spill" from search engine providers including Google Inc to help direct Internet users to its website as it attempts to control the worst oil spill in U.S. history.
A spokesman said BP would pay fees so its own website would rank higher or even top in the list of advertisements that appear alongside search results when Internet users search on terms such as "oil spill," "volunteer" and "claims."
CNN: Almost All Exxon Valdez Cleanup Crew Dead!
BP will not disclose what chemicals are in the dispersant's being used.

Gaza Aid Flotilla Inquiry Update
Brian from Toronto writes...
"Perhaps I have just been too busy with other things lately but a month has passed and I have yet to see any condemnation of the conduct of the state of Israel as regards the Gaza aid flotilla massacre. Or indeed any official remarks beyond the initial cursory 'We'll look into it and get back to you'
Can you point me to any?"
You read my mind. I have been wanting to provide an update and became so caught up with the G8/20 horror story, I dropped the ball on this important topic!
Well, I'm afraid everything that has come across my desk or that we have found online is not looking good. Seems the typical, errors, mistakes, poor judgment excuses - coupled with the typical lack of respect for human life, support the idea (lobby) an inquiry isn't really necessary.
BTW, Brian, you very eloquently described the sad state concerning the current value of human life, and the immunity given to those in power, in a previous email...
Top of mind today is the walk given to ex attorney general Michael Bryant in the apparent vehicular homicide of an easily vilified, little & irrelevant person. In light of this and similar recent events, as where improper wielding of a stapler proved sufficient grounds to excuse the RCMP of any responsibility in the death of another such little person, what is the thinking man to conclude - but that little people appear to be quite expendable, thank you very much.First lets consider the IDFs own attitude toward the definitions of murder, killing and massacre.
Historically, none of those actions can be committed by, let alone associated with the IDF, (or Israeli citizens). However, the IDF and Israeli citizens can be freely described as subjected to all of those actions simultaneously, at the hands of terrorist Palestinian minors, armed with stones.
Secondly, to put into perspective the IDF value of eight Turkish activist's lives, lets compare the potential outcome of an inquiry with the following recent judicial outcome from Operation Cast Lead, in which well over a thousand Palestinian civilian casualties occurred.
OK, that was a little poorly rendered tongue in cheek...but the hypocrisy is just plain infuriating!
As an example...
IDF soldier charged with killing woman during Gaza war
Military Advocate General Avihai Mandelblit furthermore has taken legal action against soldiers who allegedly deviated from explicit orders in three additional incidents during Israel's winter offensive in Gaza. The advocate general also decided to close the proceedings on all the other incidents that were mentioned in the Goldstone Report, a report commissioned by the United Nations to investigate Operation Cast Lead.
The soldier, identified only as First Sergeant S., said during an army investigation that he had fired at the women's legs only when he believed troops' lives to be at risk and had not intended to kill them.
But Palestinian eyewitnesses to the shooting south of Gaza city on January 4, 2009, said the women were among a group of civilians waving white flags.
There has been little if any North American (MSM) updates, but following are some updates from Haaretz.
'Obama warns Erdogan international Gaza flotilla probe bad for Turkey'"The two leaders met in Canada on the sidelines of the G-20 summit earlier this week.
According to the report, Obama warned Erdogan that the international probe which Turkey has demanded could turn into a "double edged sword," as it could lead to accusations against the passengers on board the Turkish-flagged Mavi Marmara ship, some of whom were members of the pro-Palestinian IHH organization."
Israel Navy probe of Gaza flotilla raid finds 'planning and intel flaws'
The internal Israel Navy probe concluded that the commando unit that embarked on the May 31 raid of the Turkish-flagged Mavi Marmara was inadequately prepared and lacked sufficient intelligence when approaching the activists.
The probe concluded that due to the fact that a mass offensive against Israel's commando officers was not taken into account, the officers acted accordingly under the circumstances.
(WARNING:Please use the washroom before reading any further!)
"The soldiers wanted to wear their ceremonial uniform, they expected to engage with the passengers in conversation, and that was a defect," a military official told Israel Radio.
"In light of the situation that developed they acted accordingly."
from PAJU...
A Global Civil Society Campaign to De-Legitimise Israel?
If, as expected, the U.N. Security Council remains politically impotent and refuses to penalise Israel for the killings of nine pro-Palestinian civilians on a ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, what is the next course of action?
A global civil society campaign to de-legitimise Israel? Formal or informal sanctions by individual states? Worldwide arrest warrants?
All of these - and more - are in the realm of possibility, say two leading constitutional experts, Professor Richard Falk, U.N. Special Rapporteur on Occupied Palestinian Territories, and Michael Ratner, president of the New York- based Centre for Constitutional Rights.
The gridlock in the Security Council is likely to remind civil society forces that justice for the Palestinians will depend on bottom-up conflict resolution and the kind of global delegitimizing campaign that worked so well in the struggle to defeat South African racism, Falk told IPS.
Asked how Israel could be punished and/or penalised for its atrocities if action is to be taken outside the Security Council chambers, Falk said there are two sets of punitive responses outside of the U.N. system:
* First, by strong diplomatic initiatives, as for instance, the deterioration of Israeli trade and security relations with Turkey, and other nations; and by some governments adopting informal or formal sanctions;
* Secondly, by civil society initiatives that move toward further delegitimization of Israel, such as a citizen tribunal. Ratner told IPS the injured citizens from various countries can and should begin criminal prosecutions in their home countries against Israeli officials who ordered this attack in international waters.
"Worldwide arrest warrants should be issued. Israeli officials should understand that they may have impunity in Israel, but that they leave Israel at their peril," he said.
Adapted from "A Global Civil Society Campaign to De-Legitimise Israel?", written by Thalif Deen and published June 4, 2010 on line by Inter Press Service (IPS) News Agency.
*********************************************
Finally, thanks so much to Bee Sting for this wonderful article.
'Delegitimization' is the new anti-semitism
"In Israelspeak, "delegitimization" is the new anti-semitism -- the latter word having been so misused and trivialized that it is no longer an effective stick against legitimate criticism. The Israeli think-tank REUT (Vision) Institute identified and advised on how to combat the so-called delegitimization campaign. Blinkers seem to be de rigueur for all Israel's foot soldiers, resulting in the blind leading the blind.
Israel is not targeted; it is simply being held to account for certain illegal actions. But in the august mouths of various Canadian members of parliament, the alleged "delegitimization" has morphed into a smear that can be described as: "denying Israel's right to exist." This is as ridiculous as it is baseless since, in all cases involving accused parliamentarians, the rule of law is respected as the basis for a just and peaceful world, and Israel is recognized as a fact; it exists as a state; it is a member of the United Nations."

G20 - Beat ME - I'm Peaceful!
"TORONTO — Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty will not call a public inquiry into the way police handled protests during last weekend's G20 summit in Toronto. A spokesperson for the premier said McGuinty feels an inquiry "isn't warranted. "It was a federally led summit and it would be a federal government decision to review any aspects of the summit," the spokesperson wrote in an email to Canwest News Service."
Ah, the subtle art of passing the buck and hoping everyone just forgets!
***********************************
Thanks to Corinne for the following:
(and a big thanks for all her contributions, which have helped out tremendously!)
"The following links all pertain to responses to the G20 police actions.

Four accused anarchists held overnight
"Amanda Hiscocks, Leah Henderson, Alex Hundert and Peter Hopperton were separated in the Finch Ave. W. courthouse from more than a dozen others arrested during weekend protests. Publication bans were imposed on all pretrial evidence and information."
SO, some of their charges are... conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and counselling to commit indictable offences.
Is Conspiring or planning to do something really the same as actually performing the deed? Frighteningly, yes according to Canadian law. Is this the equivalent of thought crime, or am I taking this out of context? Any takers out there up for an explanation.
According to:
War Crimes and Related Law (Canada) (February 2008), Chapter 7 - Ancillary Offences
Conspiracy is defined as...
"Simply, a criminal "conspiracy" is an agreement between two or more parties to commit ANOTHER criminal offence (the "target" offence). It does not require any positive steps toward the goal (even where the target offence requires an "act", versus an omission), but it does require a mutual intention to commit the target offence. The penalty for conspiracy is the same as for the "target" offence:"
If I have interpreted this correctly, then shouldn't these fellows have their day in court? Their bosses even admitted they were there "conspiring" to cause violence.

Lots of news and commentary from a variety of sources...
From Greg Felton...
Doesn’t a national holiday presuppose an independent nation?
"On July 1 we were supposed to commemorate, what exactly? Oh yeah, the founding of Canada as a self-governing dominion, but you’d never know it by the name “Canada Day.” The event in question, as every Canadian schoolchild should know, occurred in 1867 when the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia formed a confederation to resist the spread of individualistic Yankee republicanism.
Given the events of the previous week at the G20 Summit in Toronto, though, Canadians have even more reason to doubt that any tangible philosophical or historical connection to the 1867 Confederation remains."
********************************************
From Ron Saba...
Future not bright for Canadian democratic freedoms
"Well at least you now know. Over a period of two days in Toronto in June 2010, Canadians learned that freedoms which they thought they had, don't exist. The very freedoms heralded in high school textbooks and held aloft by chest thumping politicians on maple leaf clad stages on Canada Day. Basic freedoms. Like the freedom of assembly. The freedom of expression. Freedom from arbitrary arrest. The right to a lawyer. The freedom to be promptly brought before a judge or be released. If the experience of the G20 weekend in Toronto taught us anything, it is that these basic democratic freedoms don't exist in Canada."
"And the deafening silence and non-reaction of our so called elected representatives to this unprecedented attack on our basic freedoms taught us something else. That we are on our own. That our so called "democratic" system doesn't work. That it is indeed a mirage, a facade, a useful fable constructed to keep us in line and consuming corporate products. For in the heat of the moment and at one of the most crucial moments in the history of democratic rights in Canada, our representatives were no where to be found. They abandoned the people and their rights. Ditto for the major media who instead distracted us with cornball lead stories like the arrival of the Queen while our rights were being eroded."
"And make no mistake. This was an intentional act on behalf of the Harper Government and their Liberal coalition partners. The erosion of our rights has become the new Canadian normal. Through repeated propaganda, the federal government has now succeeded in branding ANY dissent, ANY expression and ANY assembly as "thuggish" and un-Canadian, to be met only with the boot and truncheon of the police."
"The Harper Government's attack on rights has now come full circle. He first attacked easy, low hanging fruit by ending Federal Government funding for groups which defend democratic and human rights abroad. After succeeding on the foreign front, Harper has now opened a second front on our domestic shores. Canadian rights are the next domino to fall."
"Random round-ups of citizens. Disappearing them for up to sixty hours in pitiful detention conditions and depriving them of water, food and sleep. Threatening detainees with sexual violence. Beating of journalists. Targeting of French Canadians and anyone who has a Quebec plate on their car. Undercover provocateurs. The labelling of all protesters as "thugs"."
This is Harper's Canada.
A police state.
A proto-fascist state."
Thanks to John from Manitoba for the following article,
and BTW, I should mention that John has made a significant contribution to the blog by researching topics and articles! Hats off to him for all his help keeping things afloat here! Corinne really made this look easy, but it is a VERY time consuming job! His efforts are appreciated enormously!
Inside Torontanamo
My Experience Inside the G20 Detention Facility
"when a pretext for war is needed, you dress up some of your guys as the enemy, have them attack you in some symbolic, futile fashion and then pounce. It is done far more often than many people appreciate and, at trade summits such as these - where the highest minions of the world-gobbling greed goblins who are behind most of the effed up shit dominating our increasingly alarming headlines are gathered - it has become almost de rigeur."
****************************************
A letter from Corinne to the Editor of the Toronto Star
Re: Walkom: The G20 summit’s grim lessons for civil liberties
"Polls show that more than 70 per cent of Torontonians approve of these abuses.
For that we can thank the small group of rioters who burned police cars and smashed store windows last Saturday
http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/torontog20summit/article/831443
This is how minds are bent by the media. Even an article that purports to criticize the police goes out of its way to label legitimate protest as "street riots", and automatically assumes that it was protesters who burned the police cars and smashed windows - even though videos show that the Black Bloc was largely - or fully - composed of undercover cops.
Those police cars were left in the streets for hours begging for vandalism that wasn't happening - only one or two "rioters" bothered to do anything other than play with the horns and root through the glove compartments. When the cars were finally ablaze (set by whom?) it took ages for any police or firefighters to arrive. Instead the police PR got on the blower to the media and told them to watch TV and see the cars burning and understand why such tight security was needed.
Both Naomi Klein and Judy Rebick confirmed that journalists were contacted by the police. Not too obvious, eh? Well, not obvious enough for the mainstream media - obviously. They don't wonder if the police set up the whole scene to influence the media's reaction. They don't even bother to say who commissioned the polls they quote or what (leading?) questions were asked. They're the media; they don't have to substantiate their wild claims, their arbitrary conclusions. Nor do they ask the question that a protester asked, "What was the mileage on those police crates?"
If the population is being "radicalized" it is by the police state, with the willing assistance of the media, not by the few vandals Walkom convicts without trial. The global police state assumes that if it pushes people hard enough, eventually it won't have to fake vandalism or use agents provocateurs to justify its massive budgets.
Let's not narrow this down to Toronto and let's not forget Montebello or the Bush visit to Ottawa, nor that the police state is a global phenomenon with the same global "security" entities operating at the games in Beijing, Vancouver, Italy, Greece and the United States. Consequently the resistance is global, what there is of it so far."
********************************************
Naomi Klein: "There has been a very powerful attack on freedom of expression in this country"

Stacey and Clinton for Undercovers!
What could make funnier reality TV then a couple of New York stylists revamping Toronto's "finest" and sending them off to a fake protest where a panel of judges can determine who is a protester and who is a predator - oops, I mean undercover cop.
Some clips from the G20...
I love the guy that recorded this!
"hey man do you know where I can buy some weed?" "Who is Che Guevara?"
As an alternative this would make a great Halloween costume as some going as a G20 undercover cop. But if someone shows up uninvited dressed like this to your party, probably best to hide the bong...
And WHAT in Freaking Jaysus Murphy is this fashion statement?

It would be apparent that due to plummeting record sales the past decade, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister has taken a gig playing under cover cop! Nice moobs there Dee - a girl could envy those!! Does this mean the 1984 "we're not gonna take it" anthem was for cops about cops, by cops? How very covert and conspiratorial.

canada day AKA black thursday
This has been a very difficult couple of days. Raw nerves, anger, confusion. Inundated with mail. Intense discussions, a few personal insights and opinions flying off the shelves at a discount! Lots of interesting information and eyes opened to some very different concepts. Quite the awakening.
Thanks to Corinne for the following article and comment. (poster courtesy of the Sex Pistols)
She arrived in Ottawa on the same day as the HST. Bad omen.
I'm sitting here listening to the noisy, ceremonial flypast overhead. Interesting that "Public Safety" assumed nobody would try to attack Lizzie, the GG or the PM. No security fences or five metre perimeters, or body searches, in spite of all the crazy beer drinkers in the crowd.
Queen calls Canada 'example to the world'
An estimated 100,000 party-goers packed Parliament Hill, compared with 35,000 last year.
Gee Corinne, the budget speaks volumes - they sure didn't put poor old Lizzy up on the same pedestal as the G8/20-boys and girls. (The only thing fake was the PM's hair)
Guess there wasn't anything in it for the Harpercrite or Mr. Clements. Maybe the crowd was previously estimated to be too darn large. And of course the PTB wanted to ride in to town, with guns still smoking from their perceived heroics at the summit. No mention of police brutality. Seems to be another case of the ostrich effect in Ottawa political circles.
Do you think its possible the PTB also scripted Lizzy's timely, but blind assumption that Canada is an example to the world? Yes we are - of how quickly the dissension into a "Police State" can be attained! Must have been a secret message to the Bilderbergers et al that the mission has been accomplished out here in the colonies...
Royal visit to cost Ottawans $3M: police
The Queen's visit to Ottawa this summer could leave residents with a huge security tab since the federal government seems unwilling to pay, Ottawa police allege.
Thanks to Brian from North Bay for creating and sharing the following image. I think he really captured the historic significance of how hard earned our rights have been, what cost they came at to those individuals courageous enough to go out on a limb, and the most effective manner used to achieve them. He comments...
I created this tongue-in-cheek humorous image after reading Judy Rebick's comments about the G20 protests. Toronto is burning! Or is it?
I thought you might like to share it with your YYC readers. Maybe she's forgotten some important things about the labour movement in Canada.
Interesting comments from an individual that chooses to remain anonymous.
Seems certain bloggers/writers (and I am one of the guilty and admit it) have taken a holier-than-thou position (by demonizing the few vandals - oops I mean individuals who demonstrated their zealous defiance of the G8/20 by damaging property)
and in their words ...
...which seems like such a blatant betrayal of those workers in this country who had the guts to face off with police on the streets to defend their rights and their dignity - demanding safety standards, minimum wage, overtime. All the things that the G20 thugs are working to take from us.
I'm of the opinion that breaking glass or burning a car is property damage.
Not violence.
I stand in complete solidarity with those who ACTED AGAINST the police, for they were acting against traitors to the people, quislings who stood in front of and defended an undemocratic cabal of violent men: The G20 leaders and their genocidal, ecocidal plans. Obama, Harper, Calderon, Cameron, Sarkosy. They are the violent ones.
I completely agree with this anonymous individual.
John from Manitoba writes...
A few years ago , I think it was during a Pacific Rim Leaders meeting, we saw on TV an RCMP Sargent, brandishing a container of teargas, for crowd control. That was the beginning of the shenanigans our so called protectors started using on the Government's behalf.
The experience this last weekend in Toronto was a culmination of this approach. It has been codified and scripted to the “T” to try and control us through police and media. Thank goodness for the Internet, which gives us a glimmer of what is really going on. If we had to depend on the regular news outlets we would have a completely different picture of the so called “terrorist” activities in Toronto.
We know now that the real terrorists where the joint police forces. Presently, it is the Toronto police chief who seems to be getting the blame for this misplaced approach to crowd control. Like with the winter games in Vancouver, however, the manpower was pulled in from across the country. I saw OPP batches as well as some from Sarnia, and we know that the RCMP was involved. Does anybody know from where these bullies were really pulled in?
The significance of this is that not only the Toronto forces, but also the forces from across the country will be contaminated with this type of attitude which very much looks like the behaviour of the German SS, we experienced during the second world war, in the occupied countries.
This does not bode well for this country and the blame should be laid on our glorious leaders in Ottawa, starting with Mr Harper. Happy Canada day
The blame is strongly being pointed at this fall guy, I believe...
Petition: Chief Blair Resign Now
Today, while searching online to confirm some information, I serendipitously came across a Canadian army forum with a thread called G8/G20 June 2010 Protest Watch, which started March 8th of this year, and currently consists of 43 pages of posts, dedicated to those darn protesters, and security measures. It's a little disturbing to know that this discussion started back then. There's even a list of "rebel sites" listed for military and police members to keep an eye on leading up to the G8/20.
The following are post clips from the inane and neanderthal through to the sympathetic and very intelligent.
"I really hope the G8 and G20 protesters decide that peacefully putting a message across is far more effective than being belligerents. Otherwise, I've got no sympathy when the pepper spray and rubber bullets come out."
Further discussion delves into the philosophical regarding police actions against the protesters.
This is very interesting...
"First of all, the cops are enforcers of the duly enacted criminal and penal laws of the country only. They have no business enforcing policies, which are not binding on citizens. A country where "policies" are enforced by cops is a police state. (I find this statement interesting and potentially incriminating to those involved abusing protesters) As for the military, we do not enforce "policy" either. We defend the integrity of the country from attacks by foreign powers: in other terms, Canada's sovereignty, and we protect Canadian interests abroad as lawfully ordered.
This is why for instance, Canada has a foreign policy on the middle east, which the military does not enforce, while after the Israel foray into Lebanon a few years ago, the military assisted the government's efforts at repatriating Canadians from Lebanon: the safety of Canadian citizens abroad being a Canadian Interest."
"Let us remember Sir Robert Peel's Principals of Policing:
1. The basic mission for which the police exist is to prevent crime and disorder.
2. The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon the public approval of police actions.
3. Police must secure the willing co-operation of the public in voluntary observation of the law to be able to secure and maintain the respect of the public.
4. The degree of co-operation of the public that can be secured diminishes proportionately to the necessity of the use of physical force.
5. Police seek and preserve public favour not by catering to public opinion, but by constantly demonstrating absolute impartial service to the law.
6. Police use physical force to the extent necessary to secure observance of the law or to restore order only when the exercise of persuasion, advice, and warning is found to be insufficient.
7. Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent upon every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.
8. Police should always direct their action strictly towards their functions, and never appear to usurp the powers of the judiciary.
9. The test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with it.
- Note: "The police are the public and the public are the police." In other words, police fight crime full time, the rest of us part time: by protecting ourselves and those we are responsible for by self-defence and defence of property within the law. Police protect society, as individuals, we protect ourselves. Like it or not, in most cases you call 9-1-1 for clean-up. "
It amazes me that some, well OK, most of these guys don't get that they will be at the same effect as the rest of us, as the PTB squeezes tighter and tighter. Nobody, other than a few well oiled politicians/Illuminati will be immune.
Here's a citizen stopping a teen aged looter.
And now for dessert...we really all are in this together officer.
