Sorry, I missed another blogging day yesterday. Was out of town attending my nonagenarian mother's Christmas luncheon at her assisted-living retirement home. If you want to have a good time, try sitting down to a table with four tough old ladies in their 90's who've parked their walkers and are keen for some fun. They say what they want and they don't care who doesn't like it, and these ones were amazingly deft at puns.

One of them was 96, and I can't repeat here the raunchy Santa joke she told me. She also told me she HATES being called "dear" (me too) and she's sick of being told she'll live to 100, because she's willing to die right now, having "enjoyed life to the fullest" especially when her beloved husband was alive, with whom she had both a close friendship and a marriage, or to live past a hundred if "the Good Lord wills it."

Every one of them was sharp-minded, sharp-tongued, nicely dressed and coiffed, easy on the eyes, and funny as all get out.

They were discussing cocktail recipes at one point and I asked if booze ever gets smuggled into the residence. They rolled their eyes and smirked mischievously, but didn't answer. For everything else, they had an answer. I laughed so hard I smeared my mascara.

Those who see old people as nothing but a drain on society shouldn't be allowed to live.

Anyway, not being a spring chicken myself, I'm recuperating from the long trip, and have some errands to run, but I'll have more to say later today or first thing tomorrow. Much more, judging from my emails.

IN THE MEANTIME: a reader to told me that her husband read somewhere that Dick Cheney's office had "spontaneously combusted". Apparently the mere shredding of documents isn't considered secure enough these days. Actually, this happened exactly two years ago today, but if you want to see some of the possible reasons it could have recurred, take a look at this. I like possibility number 21 best, in the comments section of the article.

Mareta comments:

YYC: Mareta spends as much time as she can monitoring US actions at home and abroad, because she figures that as North America goes, eventually so will Spain. The King of Spain and his son grew beards for the first time recently - a symbol of defiance, Mareta says, regardless of the cover story given in the media. The King has sinced shaved his; his son has not, however.

Hugo Chavez seems to support Mareta's conclusion, since he likened the King's beard to Fidel Castro's. Mind you, the King did tell Chavez to "shut up" earlier, but now I'm thinking that may have been the result of extreme stress - and he did use the pronoun "tu", suggesting affection for Chavez - or great contempt, depending on the point of view.

It seemed to go well with this video from Ron. Canada is not only a result of colonialism it has always supported British and American colonialism, and now thoroughly supports the Israeli version.

See Ottawan Bahija Reghai's article on how Canada doesn't even want to financially support aid to the refugees Israel has created.

Ron's video expresses well the level of dedication required of boycotters of Israeli Apartheid if the boycott is to continue being successful. Clearly it's not our government that supports social programs; it's at the whim and ideology of whoever happens to head it up at a given time. That is not democray, nor is it freedom of thought and speech. But it does show what we're up against now and where things are heading.

Some people think the move toward privatization in Ontario, for instance, is the result of Liberal ideology, but the federal Conservatives are just as much in favour. All it means is that there's now officially no diff between a LibCon and an AllCon (or a DemCon and a RepubCon), federally, provincially or municipally. The global agenda is pure corporate capitalist fundamentalism, and that means "white" control over all shades of brown-skinned peoples, especially those who live in resource-rich areas.

And if you still haven't got your head around global (corporate) governance, and Obama's role in it, rest assured the UN definitely has. See Margaret's input below.

Lord Monckton breaks down Copenhagen - part 1 (video)

He says that all that is happening- demonstrations, the African boycott etc is all "street theatre" and that, in fact, all was decided before the talks even started. He asserts that the true thrust behind this meeting is hammering out the formation of a vast network of administrative bodies - and how to pay for them - that is forming the beginnings of global government.

It could be easy to discredit Monckton because he is "one of them" but I would suggest that he may be right because, in fact, he has a bit of an axe to grind with them.
Monckton has referred to himself as a "peer of the House of Lords" but is not a member of that body. Monckton was an unsuccessful candidate for a Conservative seat in the House of Lords in a March 2007 by-election caused by the death of Lord Mowbray and Stourton. He received no votes in the election. He was highly critical of the way that the Lords had been reformed, describing the by-election procedure, with 43 candidates and 47 electors, as "a bizarre constitutional abortion."
He also belongs to many humanitarian organizations:
Monckton is a member of the Worshipful Company of Broderers, an Officer of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, a Knight of Honour and Devotion of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and a member of the Roman Catholic Mass Media Commission.

YYC: Methinks the Wiki article was written by Monckton himself. You'll laugh when I tell you why: it contains the word "riposte" - a frightfully, upper class British word, wouldn't you say? But he writes for and is an adviser to the Science and Public Policy Institute which appears to have a substantial body of scientific advisers - people who know, or should know, at least as much as the global warming proponents.

Who funds any of them seems moot at this point since both sides appear to be funded by corporate interests, as are political parties and wars.

Monckton's "Apocalypse? No!" is available on Google for anyone who is interested. In it he claimed to be as balanced as Fox News, and he didn't seem to be joking.

I admit again, for the record, I don't know whether or not gobal warming is the issue it's made out to be, but I can see lots of reasons why the powers that be would want us to get worked up about it - because in order to mitigate the problem we will have to have world government, and they would prefer we submit willingly to that rather than that they be forced to force it upon us (that's their idea of democracy - making us want their oppression).

On the same page as Monckton's video there's one titled: 1983: The Brink Of Apocalypse discussing how perilously close the Cold Warriors came to nuking the planet. Now that's what I call an apocalypse, and they didn't even bother to tell us about it until after it was all over! So my motto is the more they yell about stuff, the less credible it very likely is.

Monckton's video is seductive to me for a reason you might not suspect. It happens that I'm in love with Inspector Morse who travels in the pomp of Oxfordian circles while maintaining a fine disdain for it that helps me to tolerate it (you can get some of the flavour of that in this full length episode - and enjoy a Japanese commercial ad as well).

Travelled, I should say, since the Morse series concluded long ago and actor John Thaw himself is now tucked into an urn. As Morse, he dies of his penchant for drink (John Thaw was also an alcoholic as well as a heavy smoker) in the last episode, and I haven't been able to bring myself to watch that full episode again, though I've seen all the others numerous times.

Morse is extremely lame around women he finds attractive, can't stand to look at a corpse, and he's often unkind to his sidekick Lewis, with whom I'm almost as much in love. What a pair they make - upper crust sensibilities teamed up with plain, ordinary common sense. Have I digressed enough?

Perhaps a complete change-about is in order, just to rest the thoughts - although the reverence expressed in this video for a certain talking head is cause for mild alarm. Still, I couldn't be more enthralled with it, I must say. The funniest part in the whole thing is that he says his line about the picture being crooked but it isn't and he has to make it crooked himself in order to continue the segment.

Okay, it's not really a change-about. The guy ends up dancing with the devil, for pete's sake, just like our so-called leaders and their media mouthpieces. Martin Short is very deep, I must say.

There's an interesting Irish perspective in a video entitled: End of Nations. I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but from what I've seen it characterizes the EU as the monster in the current move toward global government. The Treaty of Lisbon appears to have effectively got all the EU members moving in lockstep with no real national sovereignty.

Stephen Harper talks a lot about preserving Canada's sovereignty, but what he means by that may well be quite different from how you or I would define it. With a global government, no elected officials would have a say in foreign policy - in fact there would be no foreign policy, but only international or global policy; local governments would be autonomous only in local issues such as health care, education, infrastructure, that sort of thing. Our military, for instance, would not be Canadian, they would be part of an international force, for which is it now appears NATO is the prototype.

I recall Harper expressing surprise at how he quickly had to deal with foreign affairs issues when he was first elected - more precisely, how much time he was having to spend on it. Probably that's because he's been thinking global government all along. Interesting that a man who professes to be a fundamentalist (Christian and Missionary Alliance) would relish the idea of one-world-government when it's supposed to be a sign of the end of days, but all the more reason, perhaps, why he would be happy to help bring it about because then Jesus could return.

Same as the Messiah can't come until God's chosen people, the Jews, have taken over the whole of Palestine. Not just prophecy all brought about by God, but self-fulfilling prophecy with a hard, violent push administered by humans.

Okay, here's the real song, a vintage piece: Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen - her open arms now not so welcoming to some.

Sorry for ignoring you yesterday. I bought myself a Christmas present - a Netbook, and have been playing with it ever since. It will be great for showing videos and photos of my grandkids to the relatives and friends I'll be visiting over the next couple of weeks. It fits into my purse and weighs nothing!

I won't tell you the brand lest you think I'm shilling for the company that made it. But they are all darn cute little things, and yet they have ample sized hard drives, can handle all the softwares that a PC can, and they have built in webcams. No DVD drive, though; a USB DVD drive is extra, but my flash drive works great for transferring files.

There's still some configuring to do. Even the best computers come with a lot a bloat software that has to be picked off like burrs.

In the meantime I've been bailed out by three readers ...

I have a very bad feeling about how the talks are going to end up. I participated on the COP15 website by commenting on someone else's comment that went something like this:

A commenter (commentator?) stated that he was sick of corruption, war, pollution, inequality etc that seemed to be a complaint against the leaders and their failure to reach an agreement.

Another commenter said he agreed and suggested that the only way to deal with global warming was to create a central governing authority to control the use of fossil fuels and that they should only be used in matters of life and death.

I jumped on because of the oblique reference to global government. I said (pretty much) How can we trust our leaders to form a central governing body and expect it to work when they can't even reach an agreement on the treaty?

I wanted to see what people were thinking about with regard to global government.

Anyway, the response surprised me. He wrote back saying I was right and that we should know "who is who" by the end of the week. Then he made the comment that maybe he I and the other commenter should do it.

It creeped me out a bit because it suddenly occurred to me (and I know this sounds paranoid) but do you suppose the talks were designed to fail, to frustrate the public and push the public to hysterical heights of fear of global warming and the fact that no one is doing anything about it as a reason to mandate global government as "the only solution" - as the only way to mandate solutions that will save the planet? Everyone must obey or we will all die?

We will know "who is who" by the end of the week. Will the Americans or British step in at the last moment and mandate that the only solution is a central governing authority?

Just who will be that knight that comes charging in to save the day?

Canada's vaccine garage sale

YYC: As usual, we have no further details on the actual cause of death of the Ottawa U. chemistry professor, just more hype on the deadliness of Swine Flu. It has not even been confirmed, so far as I can find out, that he is indeed a confirmed case of Swine Flu.

With regard to the admirable flexibility and profundity of wisdom in Canada's medical advisors who have decided enough clinical data has been received to warrant widening the use of unadjuvanted vaccines: the Health Canada website states Canada is overstocked on unadjuvanted vaccine. It's as simple as that. But they are warning against using it in the following cases:

# People with weakened immune systems
# Children between 6 months and 9 years of age
# People 65 years of age and older

Gee, if there's such a thing as a depopulation program going on, the above categories would be targets for sure, and if the additives are as dangerous as some people think, well, you get the picture!

But you know me; I'm a hopeless skeptic. So I decided to consult a biologist friend for a second take. Here is the reply:

I have read some people's concerns that squalene in a healthy person ramps up the immune system too much; there are claims it can make the immune system 10x more responsive. I have no idea if this is true or not but it is interesting that it is supposed to be used on people with weak immune systems and chronic illness - which suggests the body's immune system is already taxed and "requires" a boost in order to respond adequately to the viral agents.

I can't find the name of the Canadian-made adjuvant-free vaccine that the Quebec GSK has produced and neither is it listed on the Health Canada site. But, in Australia, the non-adjuvanted vaccine Panvax comes in multidose vials (with thimerosal) and single dose, pre-loaded syringes - to be used on children under 10 (I think).

If Canada models their vaccine after Australia's Panvax, healthy adults and children will be exposed to thimerosal if inoculated with the multidose version. Single-dose pre-filled syringes would have no thimerosal but some people are concerned about the possible inclusion of nanochips!

So healthy people are not to be healthy anymore because the next time a pandemic comes whistling around (and there will be more - there's just too much money at stake and certainly if the depop agenda is real, well then, they've got to just keep chipping away at the population until they get what they want) and a good way to do this is expose people to mercury.

Healthy people dying from H1N1 I figure is more to do with whatever underlying problems they had but fell in the range of "healthy" - overweight, diabetes, asthma, etc. Also, of course, a lot of illness outcome has to do with the kind of medical care the person received.

My personal philosophy is that you are what you believe, and if you believe in illness then you will have a larger share of it than those who see it only as an outcome of faulty thought processes and a lack of respect for what the body communicates to us about its needs. Cotler's gone so far as to donate both of his kids to the IDF - defying Canadian foreign enlistment laws (thanks to Ron for a couple of those links).

It's crazy for Jews to rely on Christians to support them anyway (especially the racist fundies prevalent among the Harper All-Cons). Christians secretly view Jews as heathens who must be brought to Jesus at all cost, or else to Hell with them!

It was the ubiquitous though questionable Pap Test, 35 years ago, that made me first realize how fickle medical decisions are, and how little attention ought to be paid to them. I went overnight from high risk to low risk, and the age levels have been rising ever since. But it's all very simple - what's done is only what the government is willing to pay for.

If you're rich, you can get a mammogram any old time. You can get one frequently to ensure that you do get a cancer that the mammo will fail to detect.

Little wonder that the White House is backing off the latest cancer test guidelines. After convincing 40-ish women they weren't responsible individuals if they failed to get regular mammograms, it wouldn't look so good for "The One" at this moment to appear not to care about his own wife or yours.

But he's not worried about costs, because even if it does get covered, doctors will follow the guidelines, and it won't be prescribed to his wife or anyone else's under 50.

In return, he says, the Taliban would promise not to allow Afghanistan to be used to plan attacks on America - the original reason for American intervention.

(1) Canadian circus billionaire blasts into space

This Guy (that's his name) paid $35 million for his seat on the space mission. No mention of who gets the money; presumably NASA makes money by selling seats.

The stunt is supposed to raise awareness of water issues, but the website of the project being supported by this billionaire speaks only in the broadest terms about its objectives, providing little detail about its actual activites. With regard to educating us all about water conservation, "One Drop" provides a rather shallow list of what you can do to conserve water - doesn't mention such things as taking showers insteads of baths, taking shorter/fewer showers, not leaving lawn sprinklers on longer than necessary, giving up the luxury of backyard swimming pools where public beaches are available, and doesn't suggest cutting out bottled water but cutting "back" instead.

It's clear the purpose is to raise money, since the "One Drop Foundation" has net assets of less than a quarter million dollars - literally a drop in the bucket - and it owes money to Cirque de Soleil (a loan?). Worse, its administration costs are more than 25% of the working capital. (See the year end report for 2008.)

I hate all the time having to be so negative about the apparent good that celebrities do for the poor which never seems to actually have any visible effect, but "One Drop" is essentially Guy Laliberte's own foundation to which a number of people have lent their names, a diplomat, some academics, the president of the Olympics Foundation, Oxfam officials, a former prime ministerial advisor, all on the administrative end. A group does oversee "Projects in the South" (which should read project singular since it seems they are active in Honduras only) and "enjoys a high level of trust" from the governance group as a whole, meaning we don't know what they're doing but we're sure it's good.

That photo of the happy Hondurans, stiffly posed beside a tiny garden, reminds me of fund raising campaigns for fake orphanages in Africa and Kashmir. I'm not saying the project in Honduras is a fake, but I do wonder why Honduras was chosen as the place to begin, considering there's been a coup there that is favourable to American interests (even though it is publicly decried).

By the way, we and our donations are the Project in the North.

I'm sure Laliberte is personally sincere, but he wants you to fund his currently rather vague "dream". We may never see any evidence of the change he hopes to make in the world, but we will see that he becomes an even bigger name, we will no doubt hear that he has received humanitarian awards and doctorates, and he may even be given a seat in the Senate, and all without depleting his own fortune (except for fun things like the cost of a ticket to space).

I remember the film "The Time Machine" when he goes into the near future and he lands in New Yok City where there is panic and people being evacuated because the moon is shattering in the sky - caused by excessive mining of its surface.

I suppose this is a coldly logical thing to do in a world whose inhabitants are ever hungry for more resources, but still it's kind of creepy and deeply sad at the same time. It's kind of like launching a rocket into the face of "God".

That's one valid way of looking at it alright. The Macedonian International News Agency looks at it another way:

It hardly matters whether or not there are ET stations on the moon which have prevented NASA from setting foot there; it's just so typical that the first thing earthlings want to do is bomb the hell out of something and then exploit the natural resources.

(3) On the issue of poverty

For die-hard Conservatives who want to believe the "white" man has done nothing but try to help darker-skinned people the world over, take a look at the first episode of Uganda Rising, to find out how Africa is a continent carved into pieces by colonialists who deliberately encouraged tribal unrest and gave perks to tinpot dictators in order to further their own aims to dominate Africa's rich resources. There's no reason there should be any poverty there, given the natural assets available. The problem is they're all controlled by foreigners.

And who do you think takes advantage of the sex slave trade? The same types who earlier profited from the regular slave trade.

Sometimes I'm tempted to buy a newspaper ...

Michael Moore begged Pres. Obama not to send more troops to Afghanistan.

Even if, say, Petie MacKay were too thick to guess what was going on in the Afghan prisons, and even if, say, he saw a report about it but never got around to reading it, or left it in a washroom, he had to have known of the likelihood that prisoners being handed over by Canadian soldiers would not fare better than those in Guatanamo. But he thought letting somebody else handle it would make his job easier, because he's in over his head, always has been, his only real talent being that's he's a mundane but passable dancer ("it's a witch hunt!"; it's "ridiculous" - how very original) who can take direction.

I mean, face it, who's running the Afghan debacle - the US. And who is everywhere the US goes - the CIA. And who are the proven torturers? So proven that Obama doesn't even want to think about it. So little so that he came up with a whole new flowery motto to avoid it: ... the ACLU said Obama was instead preventing any investigations through his pledge to look forward and not review the past.

Will we hear a reprise of that motto from Harper? Well, we have in so many words, haven't we? He sure wants to move on from it; besides it's time for the annual prorogue - er - Christmas break.

Problem is, forward in politics is the same as the backward when accountability is just another flowery catch word.

Here's something interesting:
Colvin has also been trusted with a top level intelligence job at the Canadian embassy in Washington and MacKay said he could not answer why the official was given a top job even though the government was attacking his credibility.

Now if that doesn't smell like an attempt to buy somebody off ... Nope, it ain't change yet, and it won't be except in the minds of people easily tricked by words.

The Ottawa paper tried hard to make a headliner out of the latest revelations from a general, while putting the blame squarely on the Afghan police, who apparently beat up people for no purpose, having been reportedly trained and mentored by NATO and funded by the US since the outset of the war.

Rising obesity rates, an aging population and changes in the ethnic mix of new immigrants are all believed to be driving the increasing rates of diabetes. Almost 80 per cent of new Canadians are from populations that are at a higher risk for diabetes, including people of South Asian, Asian, African and Hispanic descent.

No suspicions at all that it might be caused by the fact that all immigrants seeking permanent residence status must first be put into the hands of the medical profession before even beginning the immigration process. No doubt they are loaded up with every vaccine imaginable - probably even experimental ones! See the studies on the connection between vaccines and diabetes.

This comes across as another effort to justify closing our borders.

YYC: Agree with the above excerpt, but not so much with the belief in Obama's peace-making efforts. Obama has created an aura of peacemaking, but his actions will always be to put Israel first.

A strong indication of that is in this Ha'aretz article: "The Obama administration has made it abundantly and repeatedly clear that they stand with Israel against the distorted Goldstone Commission report." Also in Canada's continued blind support of Israel, which began with Paul Martin's government and is continued by the Harper crew, who don't take a step regarding Israel that the US doesn't approve.

And now we have the "Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Antisemitism" - "antisemitism", as you know, is considered virtually synonymous with being in any way critical of Israeli policy toward the Palestinians.

[Toronto] Star joins global climate crusade
As the Copenhagen summit kicks off today, 56 newspapers in 45 countries have united to demand action.

A Star reader has called them on their commitment to the environment:

Does this mean that the 56 newspapers will cease publishing a print copy of their papers within the next year? Does this mean that the TS head office will close? This is an occupation that can be done at home using the internet to file all stories. Does this mean that the TS and all these other paper will no longer be flying to cover stories around the world? The paper that serves the area that the news is happening from can file the story for all the other papers. Right on. Think of all the energy saved on coffee dispensers and water coolers alone! Provided the workers practice conservation in their homes, this will be an admirable tribute to the CO2 theory!

Come to think of it, since the media are singing in chorus, why not just roll them all into one? Or is that the intention? To eventually have one government, one information source and a feudal worker system?

An anarchist blogger took me to task recently for publishing an article that seriously questions the CO2 theory. He doesn't link to my blog anymore, either. It appears that there's some sort of "leftie" line I have failed to follow.

Nobody is bothered more than I that I appear to side with right wingers on the issue of climate change. But let's face it, the carbon tax is going to be passed on to the workers of the world.

And just once I'd like to see something more than mere cosmetic support for an environment that is suffering from far more urgent assaults than CO2. The sharp increase in uranium mining alone is playing havoc with our water supplies.

All you self-professed conservationists out there who berate me for siding with "nutters" in questioning the CO2 theory - tell me this: Are you overweight? No, it's not your glands; you're consuming more calories than you need, taking too large a share of the food supply and over-contributing to CO2 created by the manufacture of food products. Do you live in the country and travel to town every day in a car or van? Do you own a snowmobile? A motor boat? A motorcycle? Do you live in a bigger house than you really need for the number of people in your family?

Do you leave your computer on 24/7? Do you have a coffee maker keeping your brew warm? Do you own a water cooler? Do you buy bottled water? Is your ice cream rock hard in the freezer? Do you cook on a heavy duty range? Do you take hot showers every day? Eat meat every day? Carry your groceries home in plastic bags? Use electric can openers, food choppers, coffee grinders? Throw all waste into the garbage instead of recycling and composting? Do you accept credit cards and smart cards that contain toxic waste producing microchips?

Do you wash your clothes in hot/warm water and dry them in a machine? Do you have a ton of battery operated toys and gimmicks - such as a cordless mouse for your computer? Do you brush your teeth with commercially produced toothpaste and mouthwash even though there's baking soda and salt in your kitchen? Do you shop for new clothing when there is plenty of excellent recycled clothing available? Do you use paper towel? Do you buy newspapers?

Well, even though I question the CO2 theory, I do none of the above because I care about my environmental footprint, and that involves far more than CO2. One of the nicest benefits is that I'm getting close to my ideal weight and pretty soon you will hate me because I am beautiful.

Former Liberal politician, Allan Rock, no sooner having recreated himself as President of the University of Ottawa, summarily new-broomed a long-time, highly respected, tenured physics professor, Denis Rancourt, right out the door. In fact, Rancourt risks being arrested if he steps foot on campus property. What was his sin? He dared to step out of the academic mold by actually taking the university up on its stated offer of academic freedom, as interpreted by the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT).

He wanted to turn his little corner of the university into an agora where personal responsibility and science could meet, where members of the community at large could mingle with registered students to blend the benefits of life experience with new ideas. He wanted to show how science has affected community life around the globe and created moral dilemmas. He wanted less emphasis on grades and more emphasis on doing and thereby learning. He wanted to create individual thinkers rather than simply bend minds in expedient directions.

People molded by authoritarian backgrounds, however - among students, teachers, administrators alike - have difficulty comprehending such an open concept.

In fact, it turns out that terms like "academic freedom" and "collegiality" are merely ancient ideals that do not exist in practice in your average cookie-cutter "education" mill, where the concept of "morality" is assigned a much lower priority than obedience to a top-down, rules-based administration. My way or the highway, so to speak.

How to deal with such an upstart? You start by finding whatever fault you can, which is not easy when the upstart has an excellent reputation and enthusiastic student and community support. You accuse him of illegally using freely available university images on a blog, for instance, which blog just happens to be critical of the university administration. Had he praised the university and its president, no problem with using the images.

Then you find a student whose words you can interpret as a complaint against the teacher, ignoring the student's later written denial that any complaint was made.

But all that is just build-up. If you're Allan Rock, you eventually fall back on government (and corporate sweatshop) tactics. You find a real suck-up, in this case a student named Maureen Robinson, who is willing to take money to infiltrate and spy. (Her family must be so proud of her.)

You have her report to a cloak-and-dagger minded Science Dean named Andre Lalonde while showing her on the books as being employed by the legal department, and before long you've desecrated what was intended to be a temple of learning.

Eventually you're cranking out sneaky little toadies with criminal minds, mini Enronites, future minions of the new tradition of sleaze in higher places. Which is what comes of allowing a politician to head up an "educational" institution - the government/corporate disease goes pandemic.

It gets even murkier. At an arbitration hearing early on, when some of the lead players were different, information surfaced that indicated the Israel Lobby may have played a part in the censure of Denis Rancourt.

Then, in March 2008, according to Rancourt Ottawa U's Legal Counsel, Michelle Flaherty, made a sudden exit from her job, so hasty it precluded the usual formal niceties observed when colleagues move on to other pastures. That was around the same time that a crucial surveillance tape (shades of Watergate) went missing. Around the same time as well, communications between Maureen Robinson and Dean Lalonde abruptly ended. Flaherty was followed out the door in very short order by faculty lawyer Louis R. Benoit who had stepped in briefly to fill her shoes.

It seems probable that both lawyers fully expected a complaint to be made to the Law Society of Upper Canada - if not to the police - and may well have aimed to create the impression that they hadn't known what was going on and, when apprised of certain activities carried out by others under the ostensible aegis of the legal department, voluntarily removed themselves from the scene of the crime, thereby hoping to mitigate any consequences. I'm told the position of Legal Counsel remains vacant. Too hot a seat to sit in?

Rancourt is considering all avenues, but at the moment is focusing on a civil law suit against former Physics Department Chairman Richard Hodgson for allegedly fabricating the student complaint that was used in his dismissal, the one the student denied in a letter of her own, but which was never mentioned in the media.

The weirdest thing about Allan Rock is that when he was a student at Ottawa U. he was involved in student activism, and when he was hired as president it was said of him that he had an affinity with activism. Apparently not with Activist Teachers, however.

This exemplifies the dull thinking and resultant sloppy language now rampant in our courts, government and media. No amount of incarceration will minimize any form of threat if the "suspect" is not guilty!

Look how the grocery stores are benefiting from a fake concern for the environment - they've already factored the cost of supplying bags into their prices, but now they're charging 5 cents up front for every bag used and the government collects the tax on that as well.

The fake war on terror has to be paid for somehow, I guess.

Mareta, located in Spain but watching the west like a sharp-eyed hawk, has been writing my blog for me the last couple of days while I get some other things done.

I'm hard-pressed to disagree with anything she says, and I gotta say, the first video cracked me up when the young female narrator called the Quink "that little witch".

First, John in Manitoba sends this link, with the comment: "If Harper is party of this, he should be shot."

It's all about the revelations of Lord Monckton regarding climate change. The man is being believed bigtime, even though sometimes I think his prime purpose may be to get royalty off the hook with regard to climate change (since he's perceived as being one of them).

This is a very good video - I can't honestly say that what she claims is true but I have doubts now about DDT - mainly because I was a child when it was an issue and the fact that it was made into such an issue when many other things were not and that the environmental movement seems to have a history of exaggeration, an interest in eugenics and a desire to create fear in order to control the masses.

As I recall, the thing about the seagulls was attributed to DDT but I suppose it could have just as easily been caused by pollution from any industry - in the worst case scenario, maybe DDT was used as a cover up for a catastrophe caused by someone else.

An interesting critique about Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" WRT to DDT conspiracy

A page that lists various documents related to the DDT conspiracy (that I gots ta get thru....) including a copy of the 1972 EPA report saying that DDT should not be banned.

Funny, as of yet I don't know what to believe but it would not surprise me at all that DDT was banned because it actually encouraged the survival of African children.

How can African nations even consider being involved with Copenhagen is beyond me, except they are looking forward to some kind of hand-out I suppose.

I also saw a seriously propagandistic film releases - gosh - in time for Copenhagen! It actually refers to carbon as "poison" in that it kills life I suppose - not to mention the irony that we are carbon-based lifeforms (WTF?): "Home"

It is extremely manipulative. It uses a woman seemingly around her early forties to narrate the film to evoke the feeling that mother herself is talking to us. It personifies animals and it mixes fact and fiction in order to make the fiction be interpreted as fact. It tells us we only have 10 years to make changes that will save the earth from Catastrophe.It uses imagery that suggests that the only way for humanity to live in balance with the earth is to live primitively. It uses language that evokes gaia mythology and can be easily interpreted as an attempt to encourage earth worship.

It also suggest that the earth can and should be managed. I can't help but wonder - we humans already do such a lousy job at animal management - causing booms and busts in tightly controlled populations - that I can't see how anyone could even hope to manage the earth.

While I agree with much of what it says I can't agree with the bottom line - Carbon is poison.

I have no idea where they get their statistics from but I have serious doubts about their accuracy given the recent revelations in the emails from the climate change research group.

I no longer even know if the planet is warming or cooling because so much of the documented data has been massaged and the raw data has been erased.

If the earth is warming I think there is very little we can do to stop it or mitigate it. If the elite really believe, as Ted Turner said, that we will all end up in Somalia cannibalizing each other when the world becomes uninhabitable for global warming, then it makes sense that they would rig the global warming survival game (just as they have rigged the stock market and banking system to ensure their profit) by using carbon tax to ensure they have the wealth and resources when things get bad.

A last point about Copenhagen.

I am convinced that the group that is behind all this consists of the royal families, the peerage, the corporations and Bankers, politician-toadies chasing after influence and wealth, scientist-toadies who have become rich through appeasing the elite and NGO's looking for handouts for their causes.

The extent of corruption is unimaginable. The impression I have is that this is a massive group of parasites that have come together to live off the rest of the world's people and do not care what happens to them so long as they and their interests survive.

These are strange bed-fellows indeed. When I was involved in activism we chose specific projects and made goals and tried to achieve them. Biologists and ecologists did not expect to get rich and certainly would never have sided with the coporations, much less been sponsored by them. We made posters and displays, gave talks and encouraged the public with events that offered opportunity for hands-on participation - we asked them to pick up garbage, clear streams, plant trees, help build habitat for fish etc. Action was always at the local level so accountability was important.

Today activism is global, with corporate-backing and famous wealthy spokespeople. The message is delivered in slick films, sound bites and commericals. Participation means donate or buy my product that gives 10% to some cause or other. The message is conveniently vague - we're all gonna die, global warming is our fault. Solutions are formulated by the elite and made into legislation that dictates what everyone else (who is not in the "group") is allowed to do and not to do. Accountability is meaningless now as any actions occur at levels far away from the people that they will affect. The people have no voice because crowd control and oppressive policing has taken it away.

The idea of the world coming together to form global government in order to deal with global problems is nice but not when its being formed by a corrupt gang of parasites.

YYC: Good analysis of the activist situation! Durn right about the people having lost their voice when protesting in the traditional ways, marching and letter writing. But the bigwigs probably do worry about how they look (video) on YouTube - which is why they want to control (video) our online experience. Obama said he wants the Internet protected. That alone makes me worry about what's really going to happen. It's times like these that whatever Google's faults may be, the fact that they are big enough to possibly keep the Internet open and free gives me hope. Just don't get sucked into letting 23 and Me (a Google investment) grab your DNA.

He offers absolutely no discussion about the manner in which the East Anglia Climate Group* conducted its "scientific research" - although as a scientist he is qualified to do so and most importantly has the experience and intelligence to see it for what it is - lousy science. He wrote-off skeptics as conspiracy kooks. He referred to the thousands of emails spanning 10 years as a mere "handful" of emails. And to drive the point home he waved the Copenhagen Report (a report based on data that likely has been massaged too) around as proof of AGW.

Rex Murphy, with no science background (that I know of) did a serious, well-spoken analysis of climate-gate. David Suzuki must have been paid - LOTS - to get up there and dance around like a clown.

So far, 150 million doses of H1N1 vaccine have been distributed in more than 40 countries.

YYC: Out of 6 billion people, that's merely a drop in the bucket; certainly not enough to create the much touted herd immunity which requires a much higher percentage of the population being inoculated. Yet there was no pandemic. I can't even downgrade it to a mere epidemic, because according to my sole criterion for assessing an epidemic - that is, whether or not I know someone who came down with the disease - there wasn't one.

This means the police and justice system have no interest nor any affinity with the people they are comissioned to police. This means "the law is the law and I don't care about you".

Increasingly I'm reminded of Shakespeare's assertion that the world is a stage and its human inhabitants are merely actors. I look around me and see the same dramas being played out, but now in reverse, as if maybe there really is such a thing as reincarnation and the same set of actors have switched roles.

Otherwise, why would someone like me, who is neither a Palestinian nor a Jew, see Hitler's methods now being employed by Jews? I'm not alone in seeing the eerie similarities. The emphasis on a pure Jewish state, expropriated property (April 26, 1938), the identity cards (July 21, 1938), the curfews (Sept. 1, 1939, the ghetto wall, a caged population reduced to smuggling food and medicines, the shortage of water, increased Israeli support for "transfer", subhuman characterizations of Palestinians as cockroaches or a cancer, and Arabs as just plain troublesome in general ...

Here's another example of the same apparent reversal phenomenon:

The case of Hassan Diab, a Canadian citizen, an Ottawa resident of Lebanese heritage, a university professor who has been inexplicably charged with participating in a 1980 attack on a Jewish synagogue in Paris, and is currently facing extradition to France.

Take a look at the reports of the evidentiary hearings (Day 2, Dec. 1, handwriting analysis). I couldn't believe what I was reading, it's so absolutely bizarrely deja vu!

Ever heard of Alfred Dreyfus - the Dreyfus Affair? (Text emphasis mine)

Alfred Dreyfus, an obscure captain in the French army, came from a Jewish family that had left its native Alsace for Paris when Germany annexed that province in 1871. In 1894 papers discovered in a wastebasket in the office of a German military attaché made it appear that a French military officer was providing secret information to the German government. Dreyfus came under suspicion, probably because he was a Jew and also because he had access to the type of information that had been supplied to the German agent. The army authorities declared that Dreyfus’ handwriting was similar to that on the papers.

I tell you, the world has been turned upside down. It must have happened while we were all sleeping. It's either that or there really is a heavenly stage director who sends everybody back to play the same scenes with the roles reversed. It's getting damned hard to be agnostic about reincarnation.

(1) French first lady's affair with AIDS

It's all very nice that France's first lady - not to be confused with a couple of other Sarkozy firsts - has something to make it look as if she has a purpose other than being coifed, manicured, garbed in the latest fashion, and, most importantly, bolstering Sarkozy's little man complex (oh, come on, it's typical of small men with big, weak egos to seek out Barbie dolls to parade around with in public).

But I wonder if she ever asks herself why it is that, sans Jews, it's the same group of people Hitler despised that have become infected with AIDS - non-Aryans, gays and defectives (like hemophiliacs) - the sort of people that Obama's advisor, John Holdren (a hero to John D. Rockefeller), thinks should be depopulated.

You really should see the movie "The Constant Gardener' to get an idea of what pharmaceutical "treatment" too often consists of in Africa. At the very least, it's a wonderful love story, but it might also make you want to learn more about how Big Pharm plays hell with lives wearing brown skins.

Then maybe you could borrow from your library this documentary about pharmaceutical testing on the poor in India - "often without their knowledge" and certainly without their understanding the waivers they sign.

I'm wading through the book Holdren wrote with Paul and Anne Ehrlich on ecoscience and population and will have more to say about it later.

(2) TV Weather lies:

Last evening I saw on a news broadcast the scary, scary report that Ontario has had no snow in November. Right after that there was a clip a climate change protest at Queen's Park - in case we didn't get the ominous inference regarding lack of snow.

I'm here to report that relatives in Perth had snow on their roof yesterday, and I see some snow on the roof across the street from me in Ottawa.

I'm remembering a Christmas in Kingston in 1947. My sister and I got umbrellas from Santa and we used them on Christmas day! Yes, it rained at Christmas and nobody screamed "global warming". I'm also remembering that in 1969 there was a huge snowfall in early October in Ottawa and nobody screamed "ice age".

And it hardly ever snows much in November. If it does, it melts quickly because it's never very cold at that time of year.

The weather has always done its own thing and will continue to do so. We don't give Mother Nature enough credit for knowing what she's doing. We can only minimally affect the weather.

Sicko criminals have all kinds of ways of hiding themselves (and their victims) on your street, in your neighbourhood - in your government. How often do you hear, "He seemed like such a nice guy, friendly, a good neighbour" when an ongoing activity is so gross it finally oozes its way to the surface of public awareness?

Only a small fraction of what really goes on is ever brought to light and prosecuted in court. And still you walk down the street, and you say hi to your neighbour - and so you should, because the beat goes on, eh?

YYC: What is happening is awfully close to book burning, in my opinion. And it was the Nazis who invented that. I realize that Jews feel it's irreverent, considering the holocaust, and even antisemitic to compare some of their actions with those of the Nazis, but maybe they should consider this: there is a theory in psychology, with plenty of empirical evidence to support it, that abused people tend to unconsciously identify with their abuser and carry on the legacy.

On Thursday night, TVO's "Agenda" hosted a forum on the Goldstone report.

What was interesting that instead of activists, the panel consisted of academics, including two professors of law including Michael Link. The Zionist representative, Jonathan Halevi might have been laughable if one has a really sick sense of humour.

It would appear that mainstream academia's self-imposed silence on Israeli war crimes is (mercifully) coming to an end. The show may be viewed on the TVO website.

For many years I used the stamped return envelopes that TVO would send me with their fund raising appeals to tell them that I was not contributing because they were ignoring Palestine. For at least the second time in as many years, I will send them a contribution with a note explaining that I am doing so because of this excellent debate.

YYC: If you want to be reminded of the typical Nazi we see in movies about WWII, watch Jonathan Halevi in action! Another one to watch for that effect is Tzipi Livni (YouTube video) - just change the words "Jewish State" to "Aryan State" and Iran to Poland. With her hard-as-nails demeanor, Livni would have made an excellent concentration camp guard. Interesting to note is that she made this rallying speech just a month prior to Operation Cast Lead, aspects of which the Goldstone Report has acknowledged were war crimes.

The TVO debate was interesting, but lately I've been wondering if focusing on the Goldstone Report and intellectualizing about the definitions of the terms used in it, is not just another distraction from the real issue - that Israel needs to show some respect for international law and get back to its pre-67 borders, allowing the Palestinians to build a contiguous state, and sharing Jerusalem as a capital. As I've said many times, if Israel had done the honourable thing, maybe peace would have resulted. If not, then at least we could have felt some sympathy for Israel.

I mean, what are the chances that in such a short window of time we'd have the top blown off the global warming fraud, the days' pager messages from 911 (a police helicopter hit the pentagon?) AND seemingly a real possiblity of an audit for the US Federal Reserve?

Really.

Immediately I thought, why are they trying to keep everyone busy right now? What else is going on? Is it the merger of Verichip and Steel Vault?

The Federal Reserve audited? Seems impossible but then again, maybe the elite are chopping heads because the real intention is to use the IMF. They are doggedly pushing for Copenhagen and I've read that the IMF is to become the new central global bank, so it would be easy to offer up the fed flunkies to the masses for a good public "chop chop"

I think they must be chipping away, come hell or high water to get global government - in any form possible - and they are willing to give up the Fed, reveal 911 and maybe even give up carbon tax and cap and trade in order to get it. Cause when the get it, they can do whatever they want, levy any tax they want, whatever.

Maybe even they're putting the final plans together for the North American Union, whatever, but something is definitely up.

YYC: I think the reader is asking very appropriate questions. Mind you, the final vote has not yet been taken on the audit but since the Fed works hand in hand with the IMF which is more suitable to one world government, even if the amended bill passes, an audit might just clear the way for what was intended anyway. The Fed has reportedly been audited before by various entities, but as in any business endeavour there are audits and then there are audits.

Even if the Fed went down in flames, it could rise from its own ashes like a phoenix with a brand new name if it wanted to. This does seem like some sort of distraction.

Here's some food for thought on the motivation behind the support for some Democrats for Ron Paul's amendment to the bill. You'd think it would be the liberals, the ones supporting the Obama image, who would want to see the Fed audited, but apparently it ain't so - if we can believe anything we read nowadays. (Back in June 2008 it was emphatically reported that the IMF was going to audit the whole US financial system including the Federal Reserve. Even if this were true, the Fed would be clapping its hands to its cheeks and saying, "Oooh, I'm tho thscared.")

A police helicopter hitting the Pentagon seems a bit far-fetched. If it wasn't a plane it was a nice, neat missile - fired from a helicopter? Apparently they can be fitted with rocket launchers. I used to think maybe they fired a missile from a hole in the ground or from behind some construction materials that I seem to recall piled nearby; it didn't occur to me that a helicopter could be used.
