It's that time again. The census-taker cometh.

There has been a massive, major breach of data security within several Canadian Government Departments. So all the soothing Census secrecy assurances of Statistics Canada are not acceptable to us. With good reason.

After the last census (2006) only 52 people out of 2 million refusers were charged - Todd Stelmach of Kingston ON and Sandra Finley of Saskatoon SK are two - apparently because they stated their intentions publicly.

If you don't broadcast publicly that you're refusing, it puts the onus on Stats Canada to prove you didn't submit the form.
