Is it just me or is the lack of media discussion of the background of the bus stabbing killer more than a bit suspicious? Particularly so, in light of the calls now being made for more and more intrusive security measures for any and everyone traveling by bus?Maybe because there isn't a sex angle?
Who is he, where did he come from, who did he hang out with where did he go to school. How come we aren't being barraged by all these details ad nauseum as the MSM & press love to do ?
Toronto Star: Judge rules killer not criminally responsible due to mental illness for 'barbaric' bus attack
Or perhaps somebody prefers Mr. Li remain an enigma.
Here is his general background from the Agreed Statement of Facts filed in court (I've added some web links):
Vince Weiguang Li was born in Dandong China on 30 April, 1968. He graduated from the University of Wuhan Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science (Computers) in 1992. Mr. Li immigrated to Canada in 2001, and became a citizen in 2005. He graduated from CDI College (Computer Programming) in 2002.Here are excerpts from news items that have since disappeared. One of them says he immigrated in 2004 which is as good an indication as any of how the mainstream media can screw up your perceptions.
He was divorced from his wife Ana in 2006. During his time in Canada, he held a number of menial jobs including caretaking in a church, assistant manager at McDonalds, sales assistant in the parts department at Canadian Tire, and newspaper carrier. He was unable to obtain employment in his field, and had periods of unemployment, although at other times held two jobs at the same time.
But they are pretty consistent in that Li was hired by Grant Memorial Baptist church as a custodian soon after he arrived in Canada, and the Pastor, Tom Castor (don't laugh, this is serious) "helped" to expedite that. I'm confident in drawing the inference that Li had instructions from a church in China to contact Pastor Castor (stop it!) on his arrival.
Grant Memorial is a pre-tribulation Rapture church (See:"What we Believe"), and that revelation strongly suggests to me that Li was either "worked on" continuously by the pastor or members of the congregation until he accepted Jesus as his personal saviour, or that Li was already a born again Christian who was helped by an affiliate church in China to come to Canada.Naturally it's been rumoured Li is a Muslim - that always works for people who love to hate - but then it's also been postulated he was possessed by a "Windigo" (See this page of news item excerpts.)
Pastor Castor (I mean it, stop laughing!) actually applied for a ministerial position in Hong Kong not long after Li and his wife arrived in Canada. How do I know that? Take a look at this "confidential" document which was utterly, surprisingly, unethically posted online by Evangelical Community Church in Hong Kong.
But you probably won't hear Pastor Castor (this is bad - now I'm laughing) saying that Li was a good Christian, because, well, you know, his church also believes in Satan, and would no doubt prefer to believe that's who told Li what to do on that bus.
Grant Memorial church boasts that it is a place where "real people meet a real God" (See "About Us"). Ominous or what? Clearly it wasn't the "real God" talking to Li.
Even more chilling is that the church also brags that it is:
"… a place where people are equipped and encouraged to “step out of the crowd and become part of the story”and goes on to say:
"We believe that we are called to become God’s agents of transformation within the communities where God has placed us."Equipped? Surely not with knives and stuff. Called by God? Becoming "agents"?
Li certainly did "step out of the crowd and become part of the story", and he certainly seemed to think he was "called to become God's agent".
And he most certainly obeyed the church's instruction to: "Begin to look at every exposure to a new person as a divine appointment and believe that you are where you are because God has put you there. " (See "Step out of the Crowd")
Why, Mr. Li is right up there with Abraham whom God ordered to kill his own son - except that he killed someone else's son, and God didn't have a change of heart at the last minute. Isn't that just like God!
Personally, I think Li shows every indication of his mind having been controlled by some method that used all of those triggers.
Brian H. hits the nail on the head when he mentions the "more intrusive security measures for any and everyone traveling by bus?"
If that was the motive, whose motive was it? And if the fact that Greyhound has now been forced to use passenger lists and fixed departure and return times on its tickets isn't a smoking gun, what in the name of ... you know ... would be?
I've said this before, and I'm saying it again: what better way to influence a demand for stricter "security" measures than to create a shocking incident such as this. After seeing the kind of church Li attended, seeing how his mind was already conditioned to accept orders from God, I'm reasonably convinced it was a generated event.
Especially since I found out about computer-to-brain technology!
See the early experiments with microwave and the more recent work with electronic devices that has resulted in some deaf people being helped to hear, but is also being considered for communicating with combat soldiers in the field.
Suddenly, the warnings given to Christians by the United American Freedom Foundation don't look quite so whacko as they once did. Check out the video at the top of this page: Edge Special Report.
It's hard not to accept that Christians might be in the process of being set up when there is such a proliferation of websites like this one: God wants to talk to you
Hey, if you believe in Astrology, you'll be interested in the coincidence that Li was born on April 30 and therefore has the same horrorscope as Stephen Harper. Okay, now you can laugh. Or not.

Smells like MKUltra to me. The book Journey into Madness, if you can find it, details CIA experiments in Montreal with Canadian govt approval.
PaleoAnarchist: This is your final warning. If you don't provide searchable web links to substantiate your assertions, your comments will no longer be posted. I will have to assume you are extremely lazy minded, and/or that your aim is not to inform, but either to show off or merely spread rumours.
Readers: If you haven't heard of the McGill University mind control experiments, there is plenty of reading at this Google search result.
OK sorry, I thought the name of the book, as a 'real-life' link, was good enough. I actually read that book a long time before the internet took off. I Didn't mean to make you do a search. Will provide urls from now on.
To PaleoAnarchist: Thanks for being reasonable about it. I hate rules, and I hate enforcing them; it makes me really resentful. That rule is in place because of trolls who speak only in propaganda mantras, but once made it has to be enforced across the board.
I read about Cameron in newspapers when the story first broke and I've never forgotten how shocked all we believers in the sacredness of the medical profession were at that time. I fully concur with your suspicions regarding Li's mental condition. Anyone who thinks those McGill experiments aren't being built upon today is as naive as we were back then.
After Ewen Cameron, they went on to do experiments in prisons.
Thanks for the good info.
